Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission to first-year, as an Ontario College
applicant, you must present one of the following:
* A minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. in a
two-or three-year Diploma program.
* A minimum 3.0 GPA in the last two semesters of a
two-or three-year Diploma program.
* A minimum cumulative average of at least 3.0
GPA in the first year of a General Arts and Science
program.
Please Note: Averages quoted are minimum for admission consideration and do not guarantee admission.
There may be prerequisite requirements in Math or Science depending on the program to which you apply. Please contact the Admissions Office for more information if you are applying to Engineering, Foods & Nutrition, Kinesiology, Management and Organizational Studies or Nursing.
Transfer Credit Eligibility
If you are completing a two- or three- year diploma
program and meet the admission criteria, you may
be eligible for admission with transfer credit up to a
maximum five courses.
Collaborative Programs
Western offers two collaborative programs with Fanshawe College. The Media, Theory and Production program is a combined three year degree and two year diploma that provides students with both the practical and theoretical knowledge surrounding today's multimedia and media broadcasting.
The Western-Fanshawe Collaborative Bachelor of Science Nursing (BScN) program offers students the opportunity to study either at Fanshawe or Western for the first two years and then at Western in year three and four. Graduates are eligible to apply to the College of Nurses of Ontario for registration.
Please Note: These are both limited enrollment programs. Prequisites are required for the Nursing program. Please see program information for details.

Accounting (2 Year Diploma) – The University agrees to award a maximum of 10.0 transfer credits.
Child and Youth Worker (3 Year Diploma) – The University agrees to award a maximum of 3.0 transfer credits.
Early Childhood Education (2 Year Diploma) – The University agrees to award a maximum of 3.0 transfer credits.
Liberal Studies Major, General Arts and Science Division (1 Year Certificate) – The University agrees to award transfer credit for all pre-approved 7000 level courses.
Liberal Studies Major, General Arts and Science Division (2 Year Diploma) – The University agrees to award a maximum of 5.0 transfer credits.
Social Service Worker (2 Year Diploma) – The University agrees to award a maximum of 3.0 transfer credits.
Social Service Worker (Fast-track 10 month Diploma Program) – The University agrees to award a maximum of 2.0 transfer.
Environmental Technology (3 Year Diploma) – The University agrees to award a maximum of 9.0 transfer credits.
Science Laboratory Technology (3 Year Diploma) – The University agrees to award a maximum of 9.0 transfer credits.

Child and Youth Worker (2 Year Diploma) – The University agrees to award a maximum of 5.0 transfer credits.
