Admission Scholarship Eligibility
You must be applying directly from secondary school to Western's Main Campus for full-time first year studies. Eligibility is based on successful completion of your secondary school diploma and on your final secondary school admission average, including prerequisite courses, calculated for the program to which you have been admitted and to which you have confirmed acceptance. Admission scholarships are automatically awarded and no application is required. Note: Students who attended a post-secondary institution and then returned to secondary school are not eligible.
Continuing Scholarships: $10,000
Students in the Faculties of Arts and Humanities, Engineering, Health Sciences (Kinesiology, Nursing and Health Studies), Information and Media Studies, Science and Social Science who achieve a final admission average of 95% or greater can obtain a four-year continuing scholarship worth $10,000. That's $2,500 for each of your four years at Western. The Don Wright Faculty of Music will select the Continuing Admission Scholarship recipients for the Music program.
Unlimited One-year Admission Scholarships: $1,000 to $2,000
If you are a secondary school student and your final admission average is 88% or greater and you are registering for full-time studies at Main Campus, you are guaranteed a scholarship worth at least $1,000. As your average increases, so does your scholarship. Earn a final admission average of 90% or better and your scholarship increases to $2,000, just for enrolling at Western's Main Campus.
Other Entrance Awards
There are also faculty-specific entrance scholarships and awards established by the University, alumni, individuals and corporations to recognize the achievements of Western's students. These range in value from $100 to more than $2,000. No application is required.
Financial Support International Students
International students who can demonstrate financial need may also be eligible for work-study and bursary assistance. The typical disbursement is about C$2,000.
U.S. Citizens
